Cote d’IVoire 2018

Rev. Mark Machado’s Missionary Trip

Saturday April 7th

While entering the Cote d’Ivoire boarder I showed my health card to the authorities as usual. I noticed Brother Louis was speaking to the health doctor that there was a problem.  I was told I need a meningitis vaccination shot. “WHAT? I just came here last year?” My only choice to enter the country ws to get it! I know, I was thinking the same thing! How sanitary is the needle? Well it was sealed in a sanitary disposal package and so right there at the border I literally got a shot in the arm! Welcome to the misionaryfield I always say! Oh yes. It’s good for three years. Brother Mark.

Saturday April 7th

So now after getting up at 3am being on the road since 4am, we are waiting for the public transportation vn at the Cote d”Ivoire boarder to get its passengers so we can leave. Well there is no set time when the van leaves. They only leave when it is full! To add to the delay they decided to add more seats in the back (you can see the mans arm under the back seat installing it) of the van. Brother Louis was not happy and we were looking for another van to go in, but they hurried and we were on the road again about 5pm. Brother Mark.

Saturday April 7th

Yeah! Now we have about 3 more hours to get to the city of Abidjan a major urban city with skyscrapers on the Atlantic coast. Brother Mark.

Saturday April 8th

The church had grown since I was here last year presenting Brother Leonard’s Course on the Gifts of The Spirit. I saw many familiar faces, many who were my students. Brother Mark.

Saturday April 8th

I taught this morning on a message God gave me titled, The Fear of the Lord. I needed two interpreters here. One to interpret from English to the Ghana dialect the other to interpret from Ghana dialect to French. So everything needs to be said three times in three different languages. Praise God for the interpreters! Bother Mark.

Saturday April 8th

This is Brother Justice the leader of this branch of Assemblies of Christians here in Abidjan. He is gracious host and a graduate of the Gifts of the Spirit Course I taught a few years ago.

Saturday April 8th

Brother Louis wanted me to make a quick visit to a church on the road, as we were walking along to go to the market to buy provisions for our next two weeks. So the Pastor, to my right, with the lime green shirt and beige vest, Pastor Michael, asked me to pray for the tithe they were receiving from the congregation. They were happy to have me as I said in their tongue, God Bless You! Then we departed.

Saturday April 8th

I was impressed, what we call a grocery store, as there were many isles of dry goods. Brother Louis was getting some things in the isle he is in.

Saturday April 8th

While we were in the store, I was looking for some shampoo and I came face to face with this graduate of mine from last year. We were both surprised to see each other. He is a twin brother of another student who was in the same Gifts of the Spirit Course here in Abidjan. God bless my Brother who bought me a bottle of orange drink!

Saturday April 8th

Now we are in the open market. People are selling their goods under the home made tents. Fruits, vegetables, bread and meat! I am not in Texas Now!

Saturday April 8th

Very interesting! We are going to a literal butcher shop! If you know my background I was a butcher meat cutter for 24 years. may I say things are a little different here?

Saturday April 8th

I have to admit their meat is fresher than ours….see the live turkey. sheep, goats and chickens?I would say this is a before picture.

Saturday April 8th

This is an after picture of the butcher shop inside. Refrigeration? What’s that? No you won’t see any USDA inspectors here! Just two butcher’s, their machetes, and a cut out piece of log for a butcher block. Oh yes and the FRESH Meat they are chopping.

Monday April 9th

After a very long trip on a ruff road, about 10 hours Brother Louis and I arrived at the town called Man. Interesting how much cargo they put on the roof of the van. They call this public transportation in their language, Woroworo!

Tuesday April 10th about 3am.

Brother Samuel who took the Gifts of The Spirit Course in 2017 picked me up on his scooter to take me and a piece of luggage to my room at a home here where I will be staying for the next 2 weeks. So happy to rest!

Tuesday April 10th

We had about 22 students for the Gifts of The Spirit Course here and they are like sponges receiving the teachings of truth from God’s Holy Word. Most of them are Pastors! There were giving testimonies of how fantastic the teaching was! Praise God!

Tuesday April 10th

To my surprise after class today they had arranged for me to be speaking on a Christian radio station with my interpreter, Brother Louis. I was asked many questions about the Baptism of The Holy Ghost and healing. Praise God Forever! The name of the radio station is called Radio Frequence-Vie.

Tuesday April 10th

After the live radio program we took a group photo. Our hosting Pastor, to my left in the photo is called Ahikpa Herve. The next two Brothers to my right took the Gifts of The Spirit class in Abidjan in 2017. The man in white to my right was the radio host and to his right is one of my new students. God is do good to allow me to be a part of His Blessed Work!

Tuesday April 10th

Wow! Praise God! We were given this beautiful salad to eat. It is like a piece of artwork! We serve a great God! When we are faithful to Him, He blesses in ways you cannot image!

Tuesday April 10th

The rain has come quickly and heavily tonight. I see this regularly when I am giving the truth of God’s Holy Word wherever I am. We serve a Great God!

Thursday April 12th

This is our daily route to the Church where were are having the 2 weeks training…

Thursday April 12th

There are always animals on the road but I have seen many horses loose on the roads this trip.

Thursday April 12th

Praise God! Today the students moved in by faith and spoke in tongues and brought forth the interpretation. For most of them it was their first time! Thank you Father!

Thursday April 12th

Tonight after class I taught at pastor Elize’s church. The Place was full as I gave the message of Faith

Thursday April 12th

After the sermon, I made a call for salvation, then for whoever wanted to receive the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. About forty came and were gloriously speaking in tongues o the glory o God!

Thursday April 12th

This bliever on Christ after being filled with the spirit came for healing. She had injured her left arm. After ministering to her, I told her by revelation, with my interpreters help, to raise up her arm to God’s glory, she did.

Thursday April 12th

This man has epilepsy. I said there is no spirit there right now, so there is nothing to be delivered from. I knew I would be teaching on the gift of the discerning of spirits tomorrow in class and that I would explain it then.

Friday April 13th

Today I am teaching on the gift of the discerning of spirits. I explained to them about epilepsy and what causes the seizure. After giving the instruction I confirmed the understanding to Pastor Elize and another student in class who is a member in his congregation. They acknowledged hey understood to help deliver two who attend their church.

Friday April 13th

This man of God really impressed me today in class when I asked the question of why God left Christ while he was on the cross to die alone? Brother Pierre is the only student in about 18 years who gave the correct answer! Praise God and God Bless Brother Hermann!

Sunday April 15th

This morning the Church was full, I was asked to give a sermon to the congregation. The message God gave me is titled A Just Weight, from Proverbs 11:1. Brother Louis is interpreting for me.

Sunday April 15th

After delivering the message I made an alter call for salvation, and then those that wanted to receive the Baptism of The Holy Ghost. This crowd that were gloriously speaking in other tongues after they were filled with the spirit. As Jesus said in John 7:37-39

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Sunday April 15th

Now many came for healing. I definitely had work to do…

Sunday April 15th

This man of God is a police officer here in the city of Man, in Cote d’Ivoire. He is also a deacon in the Church. He had some powers of hell coming against him because of his job, and some physical pain. I told him to believe now! He did. Glory to God!

Sunday April 15th

This precious young boy was coming with his mom earlier and was sent back to their seat by an usher. I said no, let them come! Jesus said…

And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.

But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

Luke 18:15-16

I saw that evil spirits would come to him in the night and make him scream and cry. The mother said yes that is correct. So by the power of God and in the name of Jesus Christ he was set free! Thank you Father for your great love for us all!

Sunday April 15th

After ministering healing in the adult service I thought I was done. But there were three children’s or young people’s classes. so we went. I prayed for the first group then asked them about the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and was told by one of the Brethren that they don’t know they are young lets go to the next class. I said no! So I asked them if they wanted this Gift that Jesus has for them? They said yes and then they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and were speaking in other tongues! Hallelujah!

Sunday April 15th

This was the second and the youngest of the three groups. I prayed with them, then we were off to group number three the oldest of them. How great is our God!

Monday April 16th

After the message on the Blood of Jesus Christ, this Brother, Police officer Zozo Tape Martin, thanked me publicly for the message and said, we say the blood of Jesus Christ is for power to heal and cast out devils but I thank you for showing us the truth which were not those things. Amen, the truth sets us free!
